The present project aims to create a production unit for refined Shea oil produced using nuts harvested in Mail. The KARIMA company will be the supplier of large international companies in the food industry.

Stakes:

Mali is the second biggest producer of Shea with 500,000 tons of kernels of which 50% are actually usable and 53,000 tons of exported kernels.
Potential demand is high in light of industrial (food) needs;
According to the FAO, international demand is growing year on year;
The price of Shea is also rather stable compared with the price of other oleaginous seeds,

Goals:

The objective of the project is to put in place a production unit for refined Shea oil in Mali. The KARIMA company will enable different Shea cooperatives to come together into one project to bring greater added value to the Shea produced.
